How much would it cost to get a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer painted black?

I just bought a blue 1998 Mercury and I would like to paint the body black. I live in the panhandle of florida and I will probably either get the paint job done in Panama City, Tallahassee or Do than. About how much would this paint job cost?How much would it cost to get a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer painted black?

If you want a half done job (like Maaco) is will cost you about $500.00 but all they do is tape up the window and handles and spray it all over. Ok if you are going with the same color, terrible if you are going with a different color (none of your interior parts, door jams etc will be painted)


If you want a QUALITY job, you are looking at several thousand dollars. It will still depend on if you go with a generic black paint code or the Mercury black paint code. A good paint job will consist of pretty much complete tear down of the vehicle, priming and painting.


Then you have the cost of clear coat, body work (cause you do not want to drop $3000.00 on a paint job and not have the dents, dings and deep scratches fixed.. etc..


Most of your automotive paints are at least $400 per gallon and up! Being that you are in Florida you can expect to pay more anyway.How much would it cost to get a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer painted black?
