An artist painted on a shirt I wore with what she only explained as ';acrylic and body paint';. I have no idea what ';body'; paint is, but I want to be able to wear this shirt again, obviously. How can I wash it without ruining what's painted on?
And don't say ';dry cleaning';; it's roughly $7.00 for a shirt where I live, I so can't afford that. That's half a tank of gas with tax and tip!How to wash a shirt WITHOUT removing what was painted on it?
you should heat set the paint by ironing it. this is how you seal the paint into the shirt, and then you can freely wash it. some people also put it in the oven or use a hair dryer. How to wash a shirt WITHOUT removing what was painted on it?
Turn t-shirt inside out. place over older towel on ironing board and place thin cotton cloth over the painted area. Iron on high for 20 seconds to heat set.
When you wash your t-shirt, turn shirt inside out and wash in cold water. Your designs will last longer if you can avoid the dryer or dry on low or no heat.
I'm the right guy for this question! haha why? cause I have years of experience with tie-dye shirts so this sorta falls in the same category, but anyways all you gotta do is fill your sink with water and hand wash it with soap. Once that is done just let it hang dry :)
