I have just moved into a student house and have this amazing huge room, the only problem is that someone has sprayed writing on the wall. It looks like either deodorant or something similar as it has just discoloured the paint so you can see it in certain light. I don't know whether to just paint over it or whether i have to wash it off first with something because i don't want to paint it only to find that it shows through. How to remove stain on painted wall?
Sand the area to remove the old paint (and stain), then prime (if necessary...use Kilz if stain is in the wall board not just in the paint), then paint.
You could also just use ';Kilz'; to paint over the stain, then repaint with color. How to remove stain on painted wall?
Give the stain a light sand, as you sand the rest of the wall. Then just role over that one area to see if it bleeds through.
If it comes through, use ';Zinzer'; in a blue tin as a stain blocker. 拢10 for 1 lt tin.
If stain does not bleed through, save your money and finish off painting. But I suggest you repaint over the whole wall to avoid seeing the dry line of the experimental area. Good luck
Try the product KILZ. However, if you do it, talk to the people at the hardware store (or large box store - Home Depot, etc.) to make sure it will go onto the surface in question. ALSO, make doggone sure you have good / long-term ventilation when you put it on. Best not to sleep in the same room overnight due to the fumes. KILZ should do the trick, but follow the instructions and make sure you have excellent ventilation. Good Luck

may be the wall is already painted and that dark colour grafting is still underneath and giving that effect.first scratch bit of writing part to see if something is underneath and then decide what sort of help u need
I like Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, it seems to work on everything I have no doubts that this will work. If you do decide to paint, use Kilz first it is like a primer and then paint.
try a mr clean magic eraser you can buy them at your local supermarket in the cleaning isle just wet the sponge and wipe.
Paint over it with Kilz or something similar. It blocks the stain so it won't bleed through the new paint. It really works! Good luck!!
