We had new drywall that was primed and ready to go. We put up several different colors of the little paint samples you can get at Lowes. I believe the sheen was satin. I painted over these samples with Kilz. We painted the walls with a semi gloss color and now you can see the spots were the samples were. I think it's because of the different sheen. Or it could be because I used a brush to put the Kilz on and brushed over it several times to remove the color. Any ideas on how to remove the sheen from these spots? How to remove paint sheen when covering up a paint sample on the wall?
Maybe you're seeing the colors of the samples bleeding through the topcoat? The primer would have made the surface a flat sheen so im guessing these are darker colors that you sampled. You may need to apply another coat. How to remove paint sheen when covering up a paint sample on the wall?
You can try scuffing the area up with like 120 grit sand paper before repainting. Or, unless this is in a kitchen or bathroom, try a less glossy paint, like satin or eggshell.
