How much should it cost to have my ceiling painted?

Had some rain damage after the hurricanes, and I can't for the life of me match the ceiling white color properly. So I'm wondering how much it would cost to hire someone to just repaint the whole thing. I have fairly high popcorn ceilings.How much should it cost to have my ceiling painted?
It will need to be sprayed. So the contractor will need to protect everything nearby including the walls if you don't want them painted. They will need to prime at least the stained area before applying the finish coat. ';Fairly high'; is not enough info, if they're 12' and the room is 18' x 20' I would guess about $600.00. (I'm in California and that is a California price, it might be lower where you are).





That said there are some other considerations, if the cieling is older than 1978 it might contain asbestos. The contractor will need to ensure that the texture is sound and does not have anything coming off. If it is not sound, you might need to have it removed by a licensed hazmat contractor. You can send a bit of the stuff to a lab to have it tested.





You can hire some painter without a license and have them spray it for you. They won't give a fig if there is asbestos or not.
